A Cradley Heath band are dreaming of stardom after making waves across the pond.
Metal band Gates to Lidice are on cloud nine after their debut single, titled Thursday, was played on New York radio station Brooklyn Radio.
The recognition is the latest success for the five-piece who have also been invited to play Swedish festival Rockshlaget in May.
Vocalist Sam Duggins said the group, who have been together for just under 18 months, were contacted after sending a DJ at the station a copy of the single.
Sam said: "We were sent a message to say they loved the song and had played it several times.
"It was great to get that kind of compliment. Things are going really well for us at the moment."
The rest of the group consists of guitarists Simon Jones and Dale Grinsell, drummer Mark Smith and bassist Jason Stanton.
Sam, who works as a timber frame designer, said the band were refusing to get carried away with their growing popularity.
Sam said: "I am in a career that I am happy with and if the music side of things doesn't go so well, so be it.
"But I am not just in the band for fun, we want to push things as far as we can and really make a name for ourselves."
