Fish-O-Mania Final Moves to The Midlands.

The Sky TV televised £25,000 Fish'O'Mania Final, will this year take place at Cudmore Fishery, Staffordshire on Saturday July 19.

Cudmore becomes the fourth ever Fish'O'Mania final venue, following Mallory Park (1994), Hallcroft Fisheries (1995 and 1996) and Hayfield Lakes, home to the event for an 11-year-period from 1997 to 2007.

The 16-man winner-takes-all match is set to take place on the spectacular Arena Lake, custom-made for televised events and designed and built in 1996.

With carp to 26lbs, barbel to 8lbs, chub to 6lbs, as well as plenty of bream, roach and tench, the Arena Lake will offer the finalists plenty of different methods with which to win the most prestigious prize in angling.

Situated a few miles outside of Stoke-on-Trent, on the Whitmore Hall Estate, Cudmore was opened in 1990 and over the years has steadily gained a reputation as one of the UK's premier fishing venues.

Cudmore's owner Cyril Brewster said: "We are, of course, very proud to have such a big match coming to Cudmore.

"I believe that the Arena Lake will prove to be an ideal water on which to stage the Fish'O'Mania final"

"Hopefully, if all goes accordingly, we have some ambitious plans to develop the event at Cudmore over the next few years".

Fishery Form Guide.

Hunnington Fishery Halesowen: Pleasure catches have been excellent, with the quieter weekdays best of all; the venues pools have been supplying good catches to pellets and maggots. The recently re-stocked pools have been spurred into winter action with pleasure anglers seeing the most benefit, especially the early starters.

Fishing a bigger or double hook bait over the loose fed baits is also resulting in a bigger specimen or two.

Venue regular and match fishing legend Sir' Alan Higgs, won his first match back after an enforced layoff due to illness; his pellet caught total of 39-8-0 was enough to see off all the young pretenders to his crown of Hunnington Top Rod' 07887 845098.

Shatterford Fishery Kidderminster: Last weeks Sunday open, produced over 200lbs of fish for the top six anglers, the match was won by Phil Whitehouse from West Brom, with a superb 78lbs.

Leyton Woodhall from Stourbridge bagged the biggest carp of the year so far with a 27-12-0 specimen, from the Masters Pool, on a shellfish flavoured boilie.

The Dragonfly Pool has given good sport all month to visiting pleasure anglers.

The new Kingfisher Pool has now been stocked and will open in early 2009. Club bookings are being taken now.
