RISHI Sunak has “the talent, the experience and the judgment” to meet the current challenges facing Britain, Dudley South MP Mike Wood has said.
The former Chancellor of the Exchequer today made his first speech as Prime Minister having been selected to lead the Conservative Party following the resignation of Liz Truss – seven weeks after he missed out on the top job.
Dudley South MP Mike Wood had made no secret of his admiration for Rishi Sunak since he first announced his intentions to run for the PM’s role and he said today: “Rishi becomes Prime Minister at a difficult time but there's nobody who I would trust more to take on the economic challenges facing Britain and most of the world.
“His immediate priorities must be to stabilise the economy and make sure that people who are struggling the most with high costs get the help they need, and then to build the economy so that everybody is better off.
“It's a tough job, but Rishi has the talent, the experience and the judgment to meet the challenge.”
