A FREE defibrillator and CPR training session to further boost local lifesaving know-how and confidence is to be held in Brierley Hill.

The session will include a presentation by West Midlands Ambulance Service on how to give CPR and use a defibrillator (AED), information about defibrillator locations in Brierley Hill, and an opportunity for attendees to volunteer and practice CPR on a "Resuscitation Annie".

The free session will be held at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on Tuesday December 13 – from 6.30pm to around 8pm.

Cllr Adam Davies, who has organised the event with Andy Jeynes from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “With help from key partners West Midlands Ambulance Service, Henry Angell-James Memorial Trust, Alan Warwick Butchers, Approved Electrical Midlands, and generous donations from local people, we’ve managed to install two publicly accessible defibrillators in our town.

“Now this lifesaving equipment is in place, it’s even more important that local people feel confident stepping up and using it.

“That’s why we’ve organised this free training session so local people have another chance to learn how they could use a defibrillator or give CPR if they ever found themselves in a situation where it could save a life.”

The event is open to people who live in or near Brierley Hill.

Rresidents are asked to book via Eventbrite but walk-ins will be allowed on the night (capacity permitting).
