CHRISTMAS has come early for a Stourbridge-based singer-songwriter whose festive tune has received airplay on BBC Radio 2 and other radio stations.
Susy Wall was overjoyed to hear her Christmas song All Wrapped Up played on Sara Cox’s radio show last week after she sent a tweet to the DJ.
Since then the melodic number has received airplay on BBC Radio WM and Black Country Radio and she’s also been featured on Midlands Today.
Susy, a teacher who originally hails from Abergavenny, South Wales, has been writing and singing since she was 16 but says she only started taking it seriously about five years ago.
Overwhelmed at the response to her uplifting seasonal ditty, she said she was "incredibly chuffed" to have her song played on Radio 2 and she added: "I'm really excited for where my musical journey takes me next."
Susy, aged 48, who has lived in Stourbridge for 21 years, is taking to the stage in an open mic night at Katie Fitzgerald’s run by fellow Stourbridge singer-songwriter Jess Silk this evening (Thursday December 22).
Then in the new year she’s off to Scotland to record her debut album at the end of January.
