EMERGENCY works have got underway in Wordsley to repair a burst water pipe.
Severn Trent Water is undertaking the work on Wordsley High Street (A491) at the junction with Plant Street.
Temporary multi-way traffic lights have been put in place and they will be operated manually between 7am and 7pm to help alleviate congestion on the busy route.
Dudley Council’s network manager Andrew Sumner, however, warned: “As this is the A491 and the site is approximately 160 metres from the fixed signal junction of Brierley Hill Road, congestion in the area is likely to be significantly increased.”
The works are scheduled to run until Monday January 9.
