STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb is asking local people to take part in this month’s annual RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.

The world’s largest garden wildlife survey will see hundreds of thousands of people watching and counting the UK’s garden birds on January 27, 28 and 29.

All are asked to spend just one hour watching and recording the birds in their garden, balcony or park, then send their results to the RSPB.

Suzanne said: “This great British event is fun for all the family but it also has the important task of giving the RSPB important data about the health of our bird populations across the West Midlands.

“I hope as many local people as possible will join me over the weekend and get outdoors and watching out for our birds.”

In 2022, the house sparrow remained at the top of the rankings with more than 1.7 million recorded sightings.
