WATER company bosses have stressed they are doing everything they can to minimise disruption while work to install a new water main connection is underway on a busy Stourbridge route.

Severn Trent is installing a new connection for the new Titan Wharf development on Old Wharf Road which has seen three-way traffic lights installed on the busy A491 Amblecote High Street.

The work got underway today (Monday February 20) and is expected to take five days to complete.

A pedestrian temporary crossing has been put in place on the High Street for the duration of the works and water company bosses have stressed pedestrian access is being maintained.

Severn Trent said in a letter sent out to customers: “Although it’s really important we also know work on this scale can, at times, be inconvenient.

"Please rest assured that we, and our contract partner Avove, will be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and get the work finished as quickly as we can.”
