A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after being cut free from a car in a Kingswinford crash.

The two-car crash happened on Stream Road near the junction with Bromley Lane at around 9.25am today (Tuesday March 28), just a week on from a crash which killed a motorbike rider on the same road.

The woman, who was driving of one of the cars, was cut free by firefighters and taken to Russells Hall hospital with minor injuries.

The crash closed the main road with traffic diverted.

It has now reopened.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision.

"There was one patient, a woman, who was treated for minor injuries by ambulance staff before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment."

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said crews from Stourbridge and Brierley Hill attended.

He said: "The female driver of one car was trapped by her injuries.

"Cutting equipment was used to access the casualty and she was brought out by firefighters and paramedics.

"We left the incident in the hands of police who were arranging recovery of the vehicles."
