POLICE have appealed for information and witnesses after a man spooked an elderly person in their own home in Hagley by knocking the door and asking for cash.
The incident happened in Park Road on Sunday April 2 at around 7.50pm.
Hagley and Rubery PCSO Susan White highlighted the incident in a neighbourhood alert on the West Mercia Neighbourhood Matters website and urged anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch.
She said: “On Sunday April 2 at approximately 7.50pm a male knocked on the door of an elderly person’s home on Park Road and asked for money as he needed to get to his wife who had broken down on the motorway.”
Anyone who saw a man hanging around in Park Road at around the time of the incident is asked to check their CCTV and doorbell footage.
