STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb has met with the winner and runners-up of her King’s Coronation card competition.
Suzanne visited Amblecote Primary School to congratulate the winner Lola Beard, aged 11, a year six pupil at the school who won the competition with her design of the crown on a Union Flag background.
The runners-up were: Zoya Khawar, aged 10, a year five pupil from Amblecote, Molly Wheelwright, aged 10, a year six pupil at Ham Dingle Primary School and seven-year-old Maggie Reynolds - a year two pupil from The Ridge Primary School.
There was also a category for a card from Suzanne’s dog Sid - won by 11-year-old Baylee Rakowski in year six at Amblecote.
The cards have since been sent to The King and Queen.
Suzanne said: “I was blown away by the quality of the designs.
“Very well done to Lola for winning the competition. I loved her colourful picture of the crown and the very patriotic Union Flag behind it. It really captured the message I wanted to send to His Majesty.
“It was a pleasure to meet the winner and the excellent runners-up. I thank them and everyone who submitted a design. I am sure The King and Queen will be pleased to receive them.”
Headteacher Jane Cook, at Amblecote Primary, added: “We’re incredibly proud of all the pupils from all the schools who’ve been involved in creating a card to celebrate such a historic event.”
