MERRY Hill is set to host an ‘All at Sea’ series of free ocean-themed activities for families this half-term together with the mall’s new environmental partner Wild Earth Movement.

For three days during the May school holidays, from Tuesday May 30 to Thursday June 1, the event – inspired by the release of The Little Mermaid, will bring ocean-inspired, sustainable activities to the centre.

The centre’s event area, outside of M&S on the Lower Mall, will be transformed into an ocean-inspired interactive space, with crafting materials and props provided for visitors to enjoy for free.

All materials used will be either reused or made from recycled materials.

Families will have chance to get involved in crafting sessions from 11am to 4pm each day, including making mermaid wands and crowns, pebble painting, and clay mermaid and ocean creature sculpting.

An ocean bingo inspired game will also be set up - with potion stations with small sand pits and bio glitter water, plus information on different ocean creatures.

Over the next 12 months, Merry Hill will be working with Wild Earth Movement - an environmental not-for-profit organisation with a strong focus on waste and plastic pollution - to host a range of sustainability focused events and initiatives.
