TWO teenagers were arrested on suspicion of the theft of a car from Hagley after being chased by police and the force helicopter.
The young men, aged 17 and 19, were spotted acting suspiciously in Evesham in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday June 13).
A local resident alerted police and the car they were travelling in was found using ANPR cameras, which showed that it had been stolen from Hagley earlier this month.
Officers pursued the car, with the help of the police helicopter, and it eventually came to a stop when officers deployed a stinger which punctured the tyres.
Both teens ran off, with one quickly found by officers and the other giving himself up a short time later.
The pair were arrested and remain in police custody.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Perpetrators of car theft, including car key burglary, often target specific vehicles, based on demand and value.
"Our Roads Policing teams work closely with our proactive detectives in identifying those potentially driving stolen cars or looking to steal."
