DUDLEY Council house will be lit up to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS and adult social care and say thank you to staff in both sectors.

The landmark building in Priory Road will be lit up green and blue on Wednesday July 5.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said: "It is only right that we celebrate the achievements of the NHS and adult social care over their 75-year history.

"Staff such as social care workers do incredible jobs.

"We hope lighting it up reminds people of all the work that they do as the council recently acknowledge with Freedom of the Borough awards."

Councillor Matt Rogers, cabinet member for adult social care, added: "It is likely that most people will be aware of the NHS anniversary, but fewer people may be aware it is a shared celebration.

"I welcome the equal contribution and value both sectors bring to the people of Dudley borough and am glad the council is acknowledging this important moment."
