THE Dudley Group NHS Charity is inviting people to join the biggest NHS tea party yet by hosting their own NHS Big Tea to mark the health service’s 75th birthday.

Led by NHS Charities Together and the network of more than 230 NHS charities around the UK, the NHS Big Tea aims to celebrate the birthday of the NHS and give thanks to the workforce, while raising funds to provide extra support needed for staff, patients and volunteers.

Communities are invited to celebrate by making time to get together with tea and cake.

Last year, the NHS Big Tea at the Dudley Group NHS Charity helped to raise more than £2,000.

Diane Wake, chief executive for the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This year on the 75th anniversary of the NHS, we want to make the NHS Big Tea bigger and better than ever.

“It is a brilliant opportunity to thank our staff, share stories and strengthen our relationships within our local community.

“We have been overwhelmed by the amazing support over the years for the NHS, further cementing the wonderful work of our charity.”

Whether at home, in the office or in school, the charity is asking people across Dudley to pop the kettle on, grab some biscuits, and raise funds to help the NHS go further this July.
