A FIRE broke out at an empty Brierley Hill pub last night.
Firefighters were called to the old Blue Brick pub on Dudley Road at around 9pm last night (Tuesday July 25).
The fire started on the ground floor with the cause unknown.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "A fire engine and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle from Brierley Hill responded, the first arriving within one minute of being mobilised.
"This incident involved a fire on the ground floor of the four-storey derelict building.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
"Gas and electric were isolated at the scene, before we left the incident at 10.05pm."
The pub, which was originally known as the Commercial Inn and dates back to 1856, closed last year.
It was renamed because of the colour of its bricks to the Blue Brick Commercial Inn in 1892.
