STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb says she’s written to town traders asking if they would consider setting up a business watch group to help deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
She said the town’s neighbourhood police team is looking to launch the group to support businesses following issues with crime and rough sleeping.
The aim of the group would be to bring people in the town together to support each other with ideas, concerns and make sure everyone has a voice.
Suzanne said: “I am fully supporting this scheme because I am regularly working with local businesses and police to tackle antisocial behaviour and crime in the town centre, and I believe this group would be an effective tool in that fight.
“The police are keen for it to be business-led and they have sent out a letter too.”
She urged anyone interested in being part of the new committee to get in touch so “we can get this idea moving”.
