STOURBRIDGE’S popular open weekend for canal enthusiasts is returning this weekend.
Stourbridge Navigation Trust is hosting the family fun event which will see canal boats descend on the Stourbridge Arm Canal on Saturday and Sunday October 21 and 22.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, to be held in Canal Street and at The Bonded Warehouse, which will also include food and craft stalls, a vintage vehicle display, live music, children’s rides and a real ale bar.
The event, which is free to enter and is the biggest in the trust’s annual calendar, will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm on both days.
Nearby Riverside House, accessed from the end of Canal Street, will also be opening to the public on both days and showcasing future plans for development at the site next to Stourbridge Canal.
Canal Street will be closed to traffic both days, with attendees asked to walk to the event or park in nearby streets.
