A STOURBRIDGE charitable group which helps people in need has launched its annual Christmas campaign.

Leslie’s Care Packages for the Homeless, a community interest company founded by Vi Wood in memory of her late husband, aims to bring joy to those who may not otherwise receive any cheer this Christmas.

Vi is appealing for donations of Christmas gifts to make a difference in the lives of struggling families, young adults, and homeless individuals across Stourbridge.

She said even something as simple as a hat or a pair of gloves can bring a smile to someone's face and help make a difference in their lives.

Since its establishment seven years ago, LCP has helped thousands of struggling individuals and families by distributing much-needed provisions.

Vi, who works tirelessly to organise the charitable efforts, said: “My campaign is important as so many children, young people and the homeless would not receive a gift or toy under the Christmas tree this Christmas.”

Leslie's Care Packages for the Homeless has also partnered with Show Call Academy and Lyric Call Youth and Adult Choir to host a festive carol singing event Caring at Christmas with Leslie’s Care Packages which will take place on Saturday December 16 at St Thomas Church, Stourbridge.

The event will raise funds and awareness for the organisation and bring the community together for Christmas.

Anyone wishing to donate gifts can contact Vi through her Facebook page Leslie's Care Packages for the Homeless or email christmas23@lesliescarepackages.org.
