A LYE man has been jailed after a series of shop thefts.

Jordan Nowakoski, of Lye High Street, was sentenced to 32 weeks behind bars after pleading guilty to eight counts of shop theft at stores across Stourbridge between August and October.

Stores targeted included One Stop convenience store in Worcester Street, Norton, M&S Simply Food in Hagley Road, Oldswinford, the BP petrol station in Hagley Road, Oldswinford, Boots in Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, MaxiDeals in the Ryemarket, Stourbridge, 

The 39-year-old, who stole items including cheese, chocolate and toiletries, also admitted failing to attend a mandatory drug test to determine whether he was dependent on or misusing a class A drug.

He was sentenced by magistrates at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday November 10.
