A HUGE fire ripped through an industrial building at Pensnett Trading Estate in Kingswinford in the early hours of today (November 30).

At its peak, around sixty firefighters battled the blaze, which has destroyed an industrial unit on the trading estate.

West Midlands Fire Service confirmed no one was hurt during the incident. More than half of the building, including the first floor, has collapsed.

The severe fire also disrupted businesses on the estate, as well as bus services which travel through the estate.

On Facebook, user Glennjnr Butt, who works at HandiCare on the estate, saw the huge flames filling the sky this morning.

He said it was a "bad fire" and added that he was "glad" that no one was hurt.

Industrial cleaners Matt Arrowsmith and Jason Aldridge, who work for Valgrove Limited, were called to help clear drains following the fire.

They said their boss called and said it was the "biggest flames he'd ever seen."

West Midlands Fire Service rushed to the trading estate at 4am.

The incident has now been scaled down.

In an update, the fire brigade said this afternoon: "We have further scaled down our operations at this incident with good progress continuing to be made.

"Two fire engines and an aerial platform remain at the scene, extinguishing hotspots in the unit. More than half of the building has collapsed, including the first floor.

"There have been no casualties at this incident".
