A MAN was taken to hospital after a two-car crash on Thorns Road, Quarry Bank, last night (Wednesday January 3).
Emergency services were called just after 10.40pm to the smash which left a man trapped in his car until firefighters arrived and cut him free.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers and the MERIT Trauma Doctor and critical care paramedic to the scene after the alert came in.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “On arrival, crews found one car with front end damage and another with damage to the driver’s side.
“The driver of the second car was trapped for a period until firefighters removed the door.
“The man was assessed at the scene before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment. There were no other injuries.”
