A TREE fell onto a canal path in Stourbridge, narrowly missing a couple's boat on the water.

The high winds of Storm Isha caused the tree to fall blocking the tow path from the Bonded Warehouse along the Stourbridge arm of the canal.

It missed Daniel and Helen Harris's moored canal boat by just a few feet.

The tree, which fell yesterday morning (Sunday January 21) blocked the busy tow path that is used to get in and out of Stourbridge.

Daniel and Helen live on narrowboat Tara and were moored right next to where the tree fell.

Helen said: "I was really shocked to see how close it was to our boat.

"We're just really pleased that it missed us!"

The Canal and River Trust cleared the tree this morning (Monday January 22).
