A DOZEN stores have been told to improve their hygiene standards across the Dudley borough.

Twelve stores, including Morrisons supermarket on Stallings Lane in Kingswinford, have been given hygiene ratings of one and two.

A one star hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency means major improvement is necessary and a two star rating means improvement is necessary.

The three areas inspected by the FSA when handing out hygiene ratings are the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage; cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building; and the management of food safety.

Some of the ratings date back as far as 2018 with no new ratings pending for any of the shops.

Dudley Council has been contacted for comment.

Al Noor Supermarket, on Stafford Street, Dudley, was given a two star rating on August 28, 2023.

Halesowen Mini Market, on Peckingham Street, Halesowen, was given a two star rating on December 18, 2023.

Halesowen Mini Market & Butchers, High Street, Halesowen, was given a two star rating on December 18, 2023.

Morrisons on Stallings Lane, Kingswinford, was given a two star rating on September 12, 2023.

SEHR Convenience Store, on Long Lane, Halesowen, was given a two star rating on November 15, 2018.

Singh Newsmarket on High Street, Lye, was given a two star rating on September 1, 2022.

Broadway Service Station, South Road, Norton, was given a one star rating on September 6, 2022.

Dudley Drinks Stop on Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was given a one star rating on January 30, 2023.

Ennys Afro Carribean Store, New Street, Dudley, was given a one star rating on July 25, 2023.

Kates Hill Superstore on St Johns Road, Dudley, was given a one star on November 17, 2022.

Post Office Lye, High Street, Lye, was given a one star rating on September 8, 2022.

Wall Heath Service Station, Kidderminster Road, Wall Heath, Kingswinford, was given a one-star rating on January 5, 2023.
