A TEENAGED boy has been issued with a warning notice and had his bike seized after he was spotted by police riding "recklessly" along a canal tow path in Wordsley.

The 15-year-old boy was spotted by police who had been called to reports from residents of off-road bikers causing a nuisance in the area.

Police from Brierley Hill stopped him and another boy, aged 17, on Thursday evening (March 7) after spotting a bike being ridden dangerously.

The 15-year-old was issued with a warning notice which means police will take further action if he's caught again and the bike was seized.

Neighbourhood policing officer PC Jess Impey said: “We’re know all about the upset caused by the irresponsible use of off-road bikes so we’re pleased to have seized one of these bikes, which we were aware was being used in a way that was causing a real nuisance to the Wordsley community.

“We’ll take action wherever and whenever we receive reports of this behaviour from residents.

"We know where the hotspots are and will continue to patrol these areas but we’re especially keen to hear from people who know anybody using these bikes and where they’re being kept.”
