She said: "I've nominated Dawn for this award as she is honestly the most selfless person I know.

"She has dedicated years and years to volunteering for girl guiding UK, without ever expecting anything in return.

"You probably all know her as Dawn the Guide leader, but she taken many titles over the years: Brownie Leader, Guide Leader Trainer, Scout Leader…but most importantly to me, Mom, and more recently, Nanny.

"Mom would drop anything for anybody.

"And honestly, she never has a bad word to say about anyone.

"You deserve this award, Mom, and I'm really proud of you."

Alongside her work with the Girl Guides, Ms Keeley also cares for her own mother, supports her daughter and two grandsons, and contributes time to the National Trust.

The founder of The Saleem Foundation, Shaz Saleem, said: "I personally believe it's important to recognise community ambassadors who make our area better for all.

"Dawn now joins an amazing list of heroic individuals as the awards were launched in July 2021.

"Many congratulations to Dawn, and thank you for always being there for me and One Community."

The award honours heroes of the community residing or working in Kingswinford, Wall Heath, and the neighbouring areas.

The awards are hosted by the foundation and sponsored by The British Oak.
