A STOLEN car crashed and burst into flames - with a road closed while emergency services dealt with the scene.
A car which had been stolen in Wollescote sped off from police and crashed on Bagley Street on Tuesday (May 6) at 10pm.
It burst into flames - with the occupants running off.
Police are investigating and have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We received a call just before 9pm on Tuesday evening (6 May) that a car had been stolen from an address in Wollescote.
"Officers on patrol spotted the vehicle, which then drove off at speed and subsequently crashed on Bagley Street, just after 10pm.
"No one was reported injured but the car was alight as a result of the crash and the road was temporarily closed while fire crews extinguished the flames.
"The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.
"Our enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to call 101 or use Live Chat on our website and quote crime reference 20/470648/24."
