A MAN who was arrested after a crash in Amblecote at the weekend left a man fighting for life is still being questioned by police.

The 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a car crashed into parked cars on High Street, Amblecote, just after midnight on Sunday (May 19).

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said today (Tuesday May 21) that the man is still in custody and is being questioned by officers.

They said there has been no change reported to the injured man's condition.

He was found by paramedics outside of the car and in a critical condition and was rushed to the QE Hospital. 

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving is currently in custody for questioning."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said after the incident: "We were called to reports of an RTC on High Street in Amblecote, Stourbridge at 12.35am.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered one car had come off the road and been involved in a collision.

"A man was found outside of the vehicle in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

"He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with MERIT travelling on board to continue treatment en route."
