A woman has died after she was hit by a car outside a supermarket in Kingswinford. 

The woman, who was in her 80s, was struck by a Citroen Berlingo on a car park off Bromley Lane in Kingswinford.

She was rushed to hospital following the incident just before 5pm on Sunday, August 11.

Police said today that the woman died a few days later on Friday, August 16 and launched an appeal for witnesses. 

The driver of the car is helping officers with their enquiries, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police has said.

The spokesperson said: "We're appealing for information after a woman who was hit by a car in Kingswinford has sadly died.

"The woman, aged in her 80s, remained in hospital and sadly died last Friday.

"Our thoughts remain with her loved ones at this terrible time.

"The collision happened at around 4.45pm and the driver has been assisting our enquiries."
