LYE is getting set to play host to a town carnival once again after a hiatus of many years.
Lye Carnival is set to return to the town on Sunday September 15.
Residents and traders in Lye have been working with Dudley Council to organise the event, which will take place in the High Street from 11am to 4pm.
Activities will include a funfair, market stalls and a main stage outside Christ Church, with performances from local acts. There will also be walkabout acts, mascots, facepainting and lots of other entertainment for people of all ages.
Black Country Radio will also be broadcasting from the event during the day.
A spokesperson for the Lye Carnival Committee said: “We are a new group who have come together to plan Lye Carnival, working with residents and business owners to celebrate the diverse multicultural heritage in Lye. We hope people will join us for what is set to be a great day out.”
The High Street will be closed from the junction of Chapel Street to Jackson Street and a diversion will be in place from 6am to 6pm.
The event is being funded by the UK Government, West Midlands Combined Authority and Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund.
