LYE High Street and surrounding streets will be closed to traffic tomorrow (Sunday September 15) as the town sees the return of its community carnival.
As well as High Street, Vicarage Road South, Connops Way, Clinic Drive and Jackson Street Lye will be closed to motorists from 6am to 7pm on Sunday September 15.
In the High Street the road closure will run from Vicarage Road to Jackson Street.
Vicarage Road South will be closed from Lye By-Pass to the High Street.
Connops Way will be closed from High Street to the end of cul-de-sac.
Clinic Drive will be closed at the junction of High Street.
Jackson Street will be closed from the car park to the High Street.
Traffic will be diverted via: Talbot Street, Cross Walks, Pedmore Road, Stourbridge Road and Lye By-Pass.
All HGV traffic will be diverted via: Park Road, Park Lane, Netherend Lane, Maypole Hill, Cradley Forge, High Street Quarry Bank, Thorns Road, Dudley Road.
A spokesperson for Dudley Council’s highways department said: “The restriction is required to safely facilitate Lye Carnival.”
The carnival will feature a funfair, market stalls and a stage with performances taking place outside Christ Church, walkabout acts, mascots, facepainting and other entertainment for people of all ages.
