A road was blocked by police following a two-car collision outside a restaurant in Stourbridge. 

West Midlands Fire Service said they were called shortly after 1.25pm today (Wednesday, November 20) to reports of a collision at the junction of Wollaston Road and Amblecote High Street near the Ruby Cantonese Restaurant. 

Three women from one vehicle and one man from the other freed themselves before crews arrived at the scene. 

Two women were advised to go to hospital for a precautionary check up. 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly after 1.25pm on Wednesday (November 20), we responded to Wollaston Road, Amblecote.

"A fire engine from Stourbridge responded, arriving at the scene within four minutes of being mobilised.

"This was a collision between two cars on the road. Both vehicles were made safe by firefighters.

"Three women from one vehicle and one man from the other freed themselves from their cars before we arrived at the scene. Two women were advised to attend hospital for precautionary check-ups.

"Police colleagues were in attendance to assist with vehicle recovery. We left the scene at 2.18pm."
