A WARRANT for the arrest of a former Brierley Hill care home manager who has been accused of defrauding a “vulnerable” resident has been executed after she failed to appear in court.

Jamiel Slaney-Summers, the former manager of Amberley Care Home, has been accused of defrauding care home resident Rita Barnsley out of £175,000 by altering her will.

Slaney-Summers has been accused alongside the former owners of the care home, Lyn Walker and Graham Walker, with all three defendants denying the allegations.

The trial began at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday (September 29), however, Slaney-Summers failed to appear on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after falling ill.

The court heard how she had an illness that would “subside in 48 hours”, with the trial being unable to continue in her absence.
