A "DEEP" pothole on a Stourbridge estate has gone unrepaired for months, having been classified as a "low priority" by Dudley Council.

Residents on the Penfields estate are raising concerns over the pothole in the middle of Bredon Road, which has been reported numerous times over the last nine months.

They want Dudley Council to take action, but the authority has classed it as a "low priority."

Local residents say the pothole is dangerous, posing a serious tripping hazard to pedestrians and causing damage to vehicles.

They say it is steadily worsening over time and now presents a risk to public safety.

Liberal Democrat Community Campaigner Naz Ahmed has stepped in, calling the council’s response unacceptable.

He said: “This pothole is not ‘low priority’.

"It’s deep, dangerous and is damaging cars and putting residents at risk.

“Penfields feels like it’s being ignored when it comes to highways maintenance, but not on my watch.

"I’m standing up for Penfield's residents and this is simply not good enough. I won’t rest until these potholes across Penfields are repaired.”

Naz is urging the council to reassess the condition of Bredon Road and take immediate action, warning that further delays could lead to injuries or costly vehicle damage.

Residents are being encouraged to continue reporting road defects and to support calls for fairer treatment and timely repairs across Penfield’s Stourbridge.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said: “Dudley Council highway inspectors visited the locality in September and identified several low-risk defects to the carriageway.

“Following the recent bad weather, we are aware that some defects will have deteriorated. Inspectors will revisit these areas to review if action is necessary and act accordingly."
