NEW planters and improvements to public spaces in Stourbridge town centre have been completed thanks to the town's BID.
The fresh planting schemes are part of ongoing improvements to key public areas, including Lower High Street and St Thomas’ Church Public Gardens.
The enhancements are part of a wider programme to brighten up the town centre and make it more attractive for residents, visitors, and businesses.
Aaron Powell, chair of Stourbridge BID (Business Improvement District), said: "We are delighted that Stourbridge BID has secured funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver a series of legacy projects that will enhance the town and celebrate its unique heritage.
"I would particularly like to commend our BID Manager, Ben Thompson, whose dedication and hard work in developing the business case made this successful bid possible."
The new planters aim to soften the streetscape and enhance key pedestrian routes.
Seasonal autumn and winter planting will be carried out later in the year in partnership with Stourbridge in Bloom.
This funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund has also supported the launch of the Stourbridge Art Map, highlighting the town’s artistic and cultural heritage through a self-guided arts trail.
Other completed projects include new art installations and upgrades to the Lower High Street subway, a key gateway into the town.
These latest improvements build on previous successes, such as the artwork at New Road subway.
Stourbridge BID described the projects as a reflection of its dedication to town centre pride, placemaking, and creating shared spaces that support the whole community.
A spokesperson said: "By working with a range of partners and securing external funding, the BID continues to deliver lasting improvements that support local businesses and make the town more welcoming for all."
