People who live and work in Dudley borough are being invited to have their say on a new blueprint for the future use of land across the borough.

The Dudley Borough Local Plan will be a strategy for future development, ensuring enough homes are built and supporting a thriving economy for future generations.

This week, the council adopted the Dudley Local Plan, however during its development, planning policy changed.

The council needs to prepare a new plan, the Dudley Borough Local Plan, to provide a strategy for future development until 2045.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said: "We are now working on a new Dudley Borough Local Plan, and this is your chance to help shape it.

"A local plan makes sure we’ve got enough homes, supports local jobs and businesses, helps create great places to live and builds strong communities.

"Because every planning application gets checked against the Local Plan, over time those decisions literally shape the whole borough.

"It sets out where development should and shouldn’t happen, so it’s important that we hear your views."

The initial consultation will run until September 10. Responses can be submitted through the council website.
