A community has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for a new picnic bench at a popular Wollaston park.
The wheelchair accessible picnic bench will be installed at Kent Road Playground, if the scheme reaches its £1,045 target.
Led by Wollaston Farm Tenants and Residents Association (WFTARA) in collaboration with councillor Andrew Tromans, the campaign is the latest in a series of playground improvements following requests from families for more seating.
Councillor Tromans said: "We saw first-hand during our previous fundraising campaign just how much Kent Road Playground means to local families.
"People were incredibly supportive, and while we were talking to residents, the idea of another picnic bench kept coming up.
"This time, we want to make sure the new bench is accessible to wheelchair users, so that more families can enjoy the space together.
"Every donation, however small, will help us get closer to our target and make another positive improvement to this much-loved community facility."
This latest campaign builds on recent improvements at Kent Road Playground.
Earlier this year, WFTARA and councillor Tromans successfully raised £900 for new goalposts at the playground.
In 2025, the site received investment in new play equipment following a long-standing campaign by WFTARA.
The equipment has since become a popular feature for families living on the Wollaston Farm Estate and in nearby areas.
The new fundraiser aims to cover the cost of a picnic table with wheelchair access, from Dudley Council-approved supplier Glasdon.
If funded, the bench will match the existing picnic bench at the playground and help ensure the space is welcoming to all visitors.
Funds raised will be passed directly to Wollaston Farm Tenants and Residents Association, with Councillor Tromans running the Crowdfunder on their behalf.
Residents wishing to support the campaign can make a contribution through the 'Pennies for a Picnic Bench' Crowdfunder.
