A councillor has condemned recent pothole repairs as "shocking" and called for a full resurfacing of the road.

Liberal Democrat councillor Kash Khan, who represents Cradley and Wollescote, said the repairs on Drummond Road were of poor quality, particularly outside the primary school.

Mr Khan said: "The workmanship here is shocking.

"Residents were promised pothole repairs, but what they have been left with looks like the work of cowboy tarmacers.

"Residents should not have to put up with roads being bodged, patched and patched again.

"Drummond Road is clearly beyond another quick fix.

"It needs a proper, full resurfacing, and the council needs to get on with it."

The Liberal Democrat team is now urging Dudley Council to inspect the repairs and carry out a complete resurfacing of the road.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said: “Dudley Council has recently undertaken temporary repair work on Drummond Road due to safety concerns.

“We are awaiting contractor availability for full resurfacing works, and this work will be undertaken between the junctions of Balds Lane and Radley Road this autumn.”
