A Stourbridge councillor has hit after a flytipping incident left the area looking shabby.
Councillor Andrew Tromans posted a picture of a settee and other rubbish dumped on Bridgnorth Road near the junction with Lowndes Road in Wollaston on Saturday October 10.
He said he was going to try to trace the culprit and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
Cllr Tromans said: "This isn't acceptable.
"I will get this flytipping cleared and ask if we can access any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage to see who is responsible.
"If anyone has any information about this you can let me know in confidence."
After the appeal cllr Tromans received information from residents on the identity of the mystery flytipper.
He said today (Monday October 12): "Without wishing to name names or show bias, have received several messages from residents with information which I will pass on to the council.
"I will also ask that the flytipping is cleared ASAP."
Dudley Council said the cost of cleaning up fly-tipping across the Midlands costs over £6 million to tax payers every year.
Its website states: "Fly-tipping is one of the biggest and most expensive blights on our landscape and the people who dump their rubbish leave the taxpayer out of pocket."
The fly-tipping of controlled waste is a serious criminal offence.
It carries a fine of up to £20,000 (unlimited if indicted to the Crown Court) or an offender can even be sent to prison. It is also an offence to permit fly-tipping.
