THE Ridge Primary School in Wollaston is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Staff and pupils at the Gregory Road school organised a balloon launch on Friday September 5 to mark the ruby milestone.
They also enjoyed munching on a red buffet, playing games, a disco and were treated to entertainment by a visiting clown.
Former headteacher Mike Cruise and ex-deputy head Lesley Rowlands-Roberts also joined in the celebrations.
Headteacher Deb Hudson said the event was one of a series planned throughout the year to mark the school's anniversary.
A 60s quiz night, live band night featuring music through the decades and a summer picnic next year are also planned.
