QUARRY Bank will be taking part in a national Big Tidy Up campaign which will see the streets being blizted of litter.

Dudley Council street cleansing team will be joined by community groups as they carry out litter picks, as part of the campaign, organised by Keep Britain Tidy.

Community groups including scouts, residents and church groups are invited to get involved, Dudley Council will provide equipment including litter pickers, gloves and bags and will collect the litter once it has been picked and bagged up.

Groups will be out in force in Quarry Bank on Sunday September 21, starting at 3pm from the Sheffield Street Community centre.

Cabinet member for transportation councillor Angus Adams, said: “I’m pleased to see we’ve got litter picks taking place to mark the Big Tidy Up.

“We are very proud of our award winning street cleansing team in Dudley and we’re sure these community litter picks will help keep our street and open spaces clean and tidy.”
