A MAGICAL all-singing all-dancing variety show being staged in Brierley Hill next week will help pull in the pounds for charities.

Black Country impressario Ray Hingley has come out of retirement to organise an I Remember Variety night at Brierley Hill Civic Hall, on Thursday January 27, in aid of the Geoff Hill Charitable Trust.

Stourbridge magician John Milner, Stourbridge songstress Maggie O’Hara, Midlands comic Lee Wilson, Stourbridge Dance Academy and Dudley singer Kenny Haywood will be among the acts performing.

Mr Hingley, aged 80, from Amblecote, helped found the original Black Country Night Out show in 1971 - and used to run the Robin Hood Citizens Theatre for more than 20 years. He also appeared in TV shows including Boon, Tales of Sherwood, Nice Work and others.

Money raised from the variety night will go to Geoff Hill’s Charitable Trust - which gives out grants to cash-strapped groups and charities.

Tickets, priced £8 to £10, are available from the box office on 01384 812812, online at dudley.gov.uk or from Mr Hingley on 01384 443311.
