A STOURBRIDGE martial arts instructor has been putting a top stuntwoman and circus performer through her paces as she prepares for her next film role.

Rob Lock, who runs a training academy on the Cridden Estate in Lye, has been helping movie stunt woman and Cirque du Soleil star Lee-Anne Telford to brush up on her Thai boxing skills.

Lee-Anne, who will be appearing in Clash of the Titans 2 with Sam Worthington, spent a week training with mixed martial arts master Rob.

Rob, who is himself a member of a stunt squad dedicated to the Keysi Fighting Method, said: “Lee-Anne did a whole week of intensive one-on-one Thai boxing training with me.

“She completed four hours a day across five days and was an incredible student.

“Her fitness level was through the roof and her ability to see a technique or series of moves and mimic them was awesome.”

Rob, who has trained with Bruce Lee’s former student Dan Inosanto, was recommeded by Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Paul Jennings who has worked on Clash of the Titans, Batman movies The Dark Knight and Batman Begins and The Golden Compass.

London-based Lee-Anne, who has appeared as a stunt performer in TV shows CSI and Jonathan Creek and movies Sunshine and Ella Enchanted, is a world class gymnast - with numerous national and international championship titles under her belt.

She’s also a contortionist and aerialist performer and has graced the stage with the most awe-inspiring circus in the world - Cirque du Soleil, performing in the company’s KA show in Las Vegas, before finding herself in demand for movie stunt roles.

Due to put her fighting and acrobatic skills to good use on the set of Clash of the Titans 2, Lee-Anne is in for a roller-coaster year as she has also been signed up to work on action horror outing Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
