ENVILLE duo James Willis and Jamie Tristram recorded career bests over the weekend.

On Saturday against Cookley, Willis scored his maiden century finishing on an astounding 189 and on Monday against Birlingham teenage leg spinner Jamie Tristram recorded figures of five for 24.

Willis’ stunning effort helped earn his side a winning draw as his stand of 200 with Spencer Mann (62) helped them recover from 34-4 to post an imposing 336-9.

In a rain affected second innings, Cookley were set a revised target of 187 to win off 28 overs and finished on 126-6 with Tristram being the pick of the bowlers taking 4-37.

The second XI also recorded a winning draw at home against Cookley. Batting first Enville could only manage 187-7 from 50 overs with Tom Watkin (49) and Chris Bate (36) top scoring, while in reply Cookley were restricted to 113-8 by a spell of 5-36 from Tracy Davies.

On Monday at Birlingham, Enville batted first and scored 204-9, with Greg Tomkins hitting 65 and James Willis 48.

Birlingham started off well in reply but the introduction of 17 year old leg spinner Tristram and 16-year-old seamer Tom Bingham (3-20) ensured that Birlingham fell well short as they were skittled out for 144.

The seconds also recorded a 24 point win batting first Birlingham were well placed for a large score at 114-1 but in the end could only manage 184 all out in 49.3 overs. Enville reached the winning score in the 41st over with Chris Bate hitting 76.

The weekends results leave Enville fourth in Division Three, 21 points behind Stourport.
