VISITORS flocked in their thousands to enjoy a host of attractions at a canal-side festival in Stourbridge.
The 28th Stourbridge Navigation Trust open weekend has been hailed a hit after good weather helped bring out an estimated 10,000 people for the event on October 15 and 16.
The show, at the Bonded Warehouse, featured around 70 boats and 50 traditional vehicles including the star attraction - a Showman’s Engine recently restored by award-winning engineer Len Crane.
Chris Dyche, from Stourbridge Navigation Trust, said: “Everybody had a great time and Canal Street was packed, the open weekend was excellent and we have already started planning for next year.”
Although entrance to the open weekend was free, visitors helped swell the Trust’s coffers by getting tickets early for the charity’s main fundraising event; their popular Christmas Santa boat trips.
