A BALLERINA from Kingswinford has pirouetted her way into a role in English Youth Ballet's Sleeping Beauty.
Alicia Stokes, aged 10, will grace the stage of Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre next month after she stormed her first audition, performing five dance sequences in front of judges.
The youngster, of Dunlin Close, was one of 90 applicants but managed to stand out from the crowd and clinch one of the 40 places in the show, which will run from September 19-20.
Proud dad Wayne, said: "Alicia has only being dancing for two-and-a-half years, which is usually considered too inexperienced to even attempt an audition."
Alicia's dance teacher, Olga Gwynn, of the Gwynn School of Dance, said she was "pleased" Alicia had been selected and added: "She is very talented and works very hard. It's a great honour for her."
