AS winter weather sweeps across the UK the Met Office has extended a yellow alert across the Midlands.
Forecasters are warning the public to be aware of the potential for travel disruption and possible hazards caused by snow and ice.
The warnings were originally given for the north of the UK but a cold flow from the northwest is heading into the region and could leave snow accumulations of one to three centimetres at low levels.
The alert is currently in place for today and tomorrow (Friday Jan 30) and for the south west of the region again during the early part of next week.
