A SERIES of tenants and residents meetings are being held across Dudley Borough during April.
The meetings are a way for local residents to take an active role in the running of their communities with groups discussing issues relating to the estates as well as ideas of how improvements can be made to enrich resident’s lives.
Together with the meetings, Dudley Council has released an updated handbook to keep tenants informed about their rights and responsibilities.
The guide contains information and guidance about tenancies, including welfare reforms, paying rent, repairs and maintenance, how to become involved in the running of their estates, service standards and housing options.
Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing, said: “I want to ensure that all our tenants know and understand their rights and responsibilities when it comes to the service provided by housing services.
“The tenants’ handbook is a good quality document which puts everything in one, easy to find, place.
“I hope all Dudley Council tenants find this an invaluable tool for the future.”
The handbook is available to download at www.dudley.gov.uk/resident/housing/council-housing/tenants-handbook
