COUNCIL employees are jumping for joy after winning their 14th consecutive gold award for safety.
Dudley Council’s housing service’s construction team are among the winners in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2015.
The President's Award, given to winners of ten or more consecutive gold awards as part of a prestigious annual scheme run by RoSPA, will be presented to the council members during a ceremony at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on July 14.
John Millar, acting strategic director for economy, environment and housing, said: “I am really proud of everyone who works for building services and their high record for health and safety within the workplace.
“This is the fifth time they have achieved the prestigious Presidents Award, together with 14 occupation health and safety awards, which I believe is a brilliant achievement and one which everyone should shout about.
“Now our aim is even higher – to obtain the order of distinction award.”
