PUPILS at a Kingswinford school were trained up to be expert peer guides for a travelling Anne Frank exhibition.
During the past week, Crestwood School has hosted a 30 panel ‘Anne Frank: A History For Today’ display, which was provided to them by the Anne Frank Trust.
The exhibition was delivered to the rest of the school, as well as other local schools in the area, by the student peer guides.
Kay Stringfellow, staff member at Crestwood School, said: “Over the last week the pupils have been studying the tragic life of Anne Frank, who kept a diary after she and her family were forced into hiding.
“Each panel within the exhibition depicts a different aspect of her life, and death.
“One of the highlights of the exhibition for our Year 8 and 9 pupils was the Twilight event, in which the peer guides were able to show off their new knowledge and skills to their parents and the school governors.”
The aim of the exhibition was to help young people increase their knowledge of Anne Frank and the Holocaust, as well as increase their understanding of the damage caused by prejudice and hatred.
